My Entrepreneurial Idea

My entrepreneurial idea is based on building a self-serve frozen yogurt shop on Marshall Street. Too many days have I yearned for some frozen yogurt that didn't come out of a preserved container from the dining halls. Marshall Street has everything for the average, hungry college student from fried, greasy burgers to authentic Asian cuisine. Everything except for a decent frozen yogurt shop. Other places have already caught on to the yogurt craze such as Pinkberry, Menchie's, and Yogurtland. My desperation for a frozen yogurt shop could have come from my undying love for frozen goodness or my Floridian upbringing of being constantly surrounded by frozen yogurt shops. Or maybe the students of Syracuse University haven't yet experienced the joy of creating their own delicious, frozen creation. Either way, building a frozen yogurt shop will benefit the business, students, and my appetite.
The shop will be called The Frozen Orange (this is the best name I could come up with, please feel free to share your ideas). As you enter the shop, there will be a stack of disposable bowls for customers to grab. Then they will be led to a side of the shop where they can choose from six frozen yogurt machines, each containing two levers to pour out two different flavors, and a middle lever to mix the two flavors together. Next, the customers will be led to an aisle consisting of 70 different toppings ranging from candies, nuts, fruits, and syrups. After customers are done their creation, they will be guided to the cash register where they will weigh their yogurt on top of a scale. The scale will weigh in the yogurt, minus the weight of the bowl, by ounce and charge customers $0.40 per ounce. Drinks will also be available for purchase such as bottled water, milk, juices, iced tea, and sodas.
This frozen yogurt shop on Marshall street will benefit the college community's lack of frozen dairy, and create a fun experience for students who have never enjoyed self-serve frozen yogurt. This will also create an increase in business for other restaurants since customers will want to enjoy dinner and dessert. Overall, my entrepreneurial idea will satisfy the college community and Marshall street business.
